Construction is underway on water and sewer lines along Market Street in downtown Washington. The project began this week and could take up to three weeks, although officials hope to complete it earlier. The section of Market Street between Second and Main streets is blocked off.

Businesses in the area will remain open, but some may have to close temporarily for safety reasons. Parking is available on Second and Main streets and Stewart Parkway, as well as surrounding downtown areas.
