Mr. Robin Reid Moore Sr., age 90, a resident of Washington, died Tuesday morning, July 25, 2017 at the home of his son.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, officiated by Gene Andrews.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Greenville. Trey Moore, Justin Moore, Dylan Moore, Christopher Moore, Robin Reid Moore III, Rodney Britt Moore and Dr. Joel L. Moore Jr. will serve as pallbearers. L.M. Odom, Robert “Robby” G. Walker Jr., Joseph Moore and Jordan Moore will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Moore was born in Beaufort County on August 17, 1926, son of the late Samuel David Moore and Myrtle Williams Moore. He was a graduate of Mineola School at Old Ford. On September 24, 1948, he married the former Arthur Lee Hardee who preceded him in death on January 18, 2000. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. Mr. Moore owned and operated Moore Motor Company and was known to be a workaholic. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a charter member of the Moose Lodge. He loved to fly and was a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). He was a member of Old Ford Church of Christ as a youth and later attended First Church of Christ in Washington.
Mr. Moore is survived by his four children: Robin Reid Moore Jr. and wife Connie, Joel Leon Moore Sr. and wife Glenda, Phillip Glenn Moore and Donna Gwen Moore, all of Washington; 11 grandchildren: Kimberly “Kim” Denise Moore, Robin “Robbie” Reid Moore III and wife Molly; Rodney Brett Moore and wife Susan, Nichole Moore Pair and husband Bryan, Candace Cheryl Moore, Dr. Joel “Jock” Leon Moore Jr., Christopher Mark Moore II, Rachel Lauren Moore, John “Trey” Durwood Moore III and wife Loralyn, Justin Taylor Moore and Dylan Thomas Moore. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren: Joseph Wayne Moore Jr., Jordan Blake Moore, Meghan Hope Moore, Carson Isadore Moore, Anna Reid Moore, Ross Edward Moore, Ainsley Elizabeth Moore, Joelie Corlette Pair, Harbor Reid Pair, Beckam Lee Pair and Whaler Bryan Pair and one great-great-grandson: Easton Teal Moore. Mr. Moore is also survived by his sister: Colleen Moore Lupton of Washington. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter: Carolyn Arthur Moore, his son: Christopher Mark Moore and his siblings: Wilbur Moore, Ray Moore, Gus Moore, Nick Moore, Myrtle Lee, Muse James, Sue Riggs, Tillie Moore and Nell Moore.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of his son, Joel Moore, located at 106 Crown Drive, Washington.
