Washington Police and Fire Services hosted an ice cream social Saturday for members and friends of its Project “I Live Alone,” in which police personnel check in with seniors who don’t have a nearby family support system.

Here, Beaufort County Department of Social Services Income Maintenance Administrator speaks to attendees about food and nutrition services, Medicaid, Low Income Energy Assistance and more programs that seniors could be qualified.
