SMITHFIELD — In observance of National Manufacturing Day, AAF Flanders will hold an open house at its Smithfield plant, 1418 Wal Pat Road, on Friday, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Those interested in job opportunities, or anyone curious about the plant’s operations, are encouraged to stop by for tours, light refreshments and more information about the company’s revolutionary air filters.
Local officials and business leaders are expected to attend, including Smithfield Mayor Andy Moore.
In 2016, AAF International and Flanders Corp. combined to become the largest and most comprehensive air-filtration products company in the world, AAF Flanders. The combined organization is dedicated to creating meaningful change in the lives and environments of customers, while relying on the strong foundation upon which both companies were founded — an unwavering commitment to innovation in air filtration.
The 532,000-square-foot Smithfield plant is one of the area’s largest employers, with about 575 employees. AAF Flanders is currently hiring for about 60 open positions there.
“Our plant has been a mainstay in the local area for many years,” said Ron Shriver, vice president of operations. “Part of the reason we want to open our doors to the public is to re-introduce ourselves as one of Smithfield’s most steadfast community partners. Thanks to the integration of our two companies, we’re now able to offer more competitive wages and enhanced benefits to our team members, as well as opportunities for growth in our global organization.”
