TRENTON — Southside got back on track, snapping its three-game losing streak by throttling winless Jones Senior, 44-0.

Southside scored two touchdowns in each of the first three quarters. Brandon Sullivan drew first blood with a 14-yard run. Trajan Rhome followed him with a 21-yard touchdown that put the Seahawks ahead, 16-0, after the first 12 minutes.

Jamison Bennett and Yahkiel White each put their stamps on the game in the second quarter. After going into halftime with a 31-0 lead, Will Warren and Grant Jensen each scored in the third quarter to put the game away.

Southside’s offense racked up 396 yards on 42 plays. Its defense forced four turnovers — two fumbles and interceptions from Jensen and Demetrius Ebron — while holding the Trojans to just 62 yards from scrimmage.

Rhome led the Seahawks with 127 yards rushing. Sullivan added 64, and White had 54. Shamari Walters had one catch from Warren for a 36-yard gain.

Defensively, Quinton Vick was all over the Trojans. He had seven tackles and found himself in the backfield often. Trey Carter had a team-high eight tackles.

Southside moves on to begin a two-game home stand with Riverside next week.
