BELHAVEN — The Belhaven-Pantego Rotary Club will sponsor a “Meet and Greet the Candidates” event Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Belhaven Civic Center.

“This will not be a debate. Rather, it will provide an opportunity for each candidate for mayor or (town) council to explain why they are running for office and what they hope to accomplish,” said Rotary Club President Mike Goodwin.

After all of the candidates have spoken, the program will be opened to the audience. Any Belhaven citizen may ask a pertinent question of any of the speakers.

Following the formal program, the Rotarians will provide coffee and pastries, so that everyone can talk to the candidates in a more relaxed, informal setting.

The candidates scheduled to attend are: mayor — Arthur Bonner, Ricky Credle, Edith Guy, Elola T. Moore and Greg Satterthwaite; Board of Aldermen — Mary F. Cox, Yvonne DeRuiz, Ricky Radcliffe and Jay Wilkins.

The Belhaven Civic Center is located at 257 W. Pungo St., Belhaven.
