Eastern Elementary holds ‘Kiss and Go Day’

Athletes from Washington High School came to Eastern Elementary to help encourage students to walk independently to their classrooms without their parents. The WHS students cheered, gave out high-fives and greeted students Sept. 29.

Promoting independence in students is very important for a successful school year. Giving these students an extra push in the right direction helps make them feel like they can do it on their own. Students at Eastern and John Cotten Tayloe look up to the high school students in hopes of becoming just as successful.

A big thanks goes to the Washington teachers for always sharing their students with us to help make days like these possible.
