The Oct. 10 meeting was called to order by Obed Brabble at 7 p.m.

Members present at the meeting were as follows: Buddy and Lynda Harris, Curtis Rodgers, Bryan and Ruby Manning, Jeff Edwards, Dan Wallace, Bryan and Phyllis Weatherington, Harold and Carolyn Tyson, Ben Davis, Obed Brabble and Gail Vickers.

The song “America” was led by Carolyn Tyson and sung by all the members. The invocation was led by Buddy Harris.

The meal was prepared by Ben Davis and Obed Brabble and consisted of lasagna, salad, sweets and drinks.

The minutes were read by Obed Brabble from Sept. 12 meeting. A motion was made by Buddy Harris to accept the minutes and second by Carlton Manning.

Old business was addressed. Ruby Manning checked with caterers about serving at Christmas dinner on Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. The meal will consist of an 8-ounce steak and shrimp. A cost of $15 per member will be prepaid to Ruby Manning. Motion was made to accept by Gail Vickers and seconded by Obed Brabble. Gail Vickers will cancel the reservation at the Hitching Post.

New business discussed was a $5 donation per member for Eagle’s Wings. Motion to accept was made by Ruby Manning and seconded by Jeff Edwards. Ruby Manning collected the money and will deliver it.

Officer Committee selected included the following names: Dan Wallace, Buddy Harris and Ruby Manning

A motion to accept was made by Carolyn Tyson and second by Gail Vicker.

The officers elected for 2018 were as follows: Obed Brabble, president; Gail Vickers, vice president; Ben Davis, secretary; Harold Tyson, treasurer; Lynda Harris, sergeant of arms; Bruce Rabon, chaplain; Carolyn Tyson, song leader; Jeff Edwards, reporter.

The directors elected were: Buddy Harris, Dan Wallace and Bryan Weatherington.

Flowers and cards will be by Carolyn Tyson. The cooks for next month will be Bruce and Goldie Rabon. Obed Brabble made a motion to adjourn, and it was seconded by Jeff Edwards.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all members. The club was dismissed by Obed Brabble at 8:15 p.m.
