WITN’s Dave Jordan received the 2017 Gold Shoe for his continued dedication to the Alzheimer’s Walk and Education Fair, held Oct. 7. Jordan has emceed the event for many years.

The Gold Shoe is an annual award for a team or individual who helps make the Alzheimer’s Walk and Education Fair a success. This year the event raised more than $37,000 to assist caregivers, to educate the community and to fight the disease through Alzheimer’s research. All funds raised through Alzheimer’s NC stay in North Carolina.
