Myrtle Allen Rascoe

Ms. Myrtle Allen Rascoe, age 95, a resident of Pantego, died Monday, October 30, 2017.

Myrtle was born June 13, 1922 to the late Ludie Bell Allen and James Franklin Allen in Edgecombe County, NC. She was married to Allen Alfred Rascoe who preceded her in death.

Myrtle was a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Belhaven. She also attended

Wilkinson Church of Christ. Myrtle enjoyed basket weaving, playing senior games, fishing and farming, but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband she was predeceased by one son, Cecil Allen Rascoe; one daughter, Mary Rascoe Arbeene; two brothers: Waymouth Allen and James Allen; two sisters: Mary Allen Parker and Thelma Louise Allen; and one granddaughter, Allison Rascoe. Survivors include one son, William Alfred Rascoe of Pantego; three daughters: Peggy Rascoe Hare and friend Harold Perry of Murfreesboro, NC, Marie Rascoe Reed and husband David of Frisco, NC and Lori

Rascoe Craig and husband Ronnie of Blounts Creek; one son-in-law, Michael Arbeene; one brother, Benjamin “Ben” Allen and wife JoeAnn of Terra Ceia; six grandchildren: Carl Greene III, Allen Rascoe, Suzanna Hare Hoggard and husband Chad, Michael Arbeene II, Christina Hoffman and Denise Craig; six great-grandchildren: Sasha Greene, Yuri Greene, Hope Hoggard, Mikayla Arbeene, Bethany Arbeene and Danielle Johnson. A graveside celebration of her life will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Fairfield, NC. The body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to the service for viewing. Friends may also view from 1:00 ‘til 5:00 Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Hillside Funeral Service. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made payable to Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, c/o R.S. Spencer, PO Box 159, Engelhard, NC 27824. Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E, Washington, has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Rascoe family.
