Mrs. Mattie Lee Allen Rose, age 74, a resident of Pantego, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Life Care Hospital in Rocky Mount.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Davis Cemetery and will be officiated by Scott Askew.

Mrs. Rose was born in Beaufort County on July 5, 1943 to the late James E. Allen and Mary Guthrie Allen.

She was a registered nurse and worked at Pungo District Hospital until she retired in 2012. Mrs. Rose enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Survivors include three children, Howard Loring Rose Jr. and wife Debbie of Los Angeles, CA, Michael Lee Rose of Winterville, Mary Elizabeth Rose of Pantego; three grandchildren, Owain Rose, Malcolm Rose, Cecily Rose; and a sister Mary Allen Tolan and husband Del of Belhaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Loring Rose Sr. on January 28, 2014.

The family will receive friends at the home of her sister Mary Tolan, 355 Foreman Lane, Belhaven.
