CHOCOWINITY — Commissioner Curt Jenkins Jr., with the Town of Chocowinity, is facing yet another charge after being arrested last Friday.

Jenkins was most recently charged with second-degree kidnapping. He was also charged last week with assault by strangulation, assault inflicting serious injury in the presence of a minor, assault on a child under the age of 12 and interfering with emergency communications after a domestic incident in Grimesland.

On Nov. 15, Jenkins and his brother, John Jenkins, were both charged with felony assault after an investigation into an incident that occurred on Hodges Road in Chocowinity. According to the victim, Jesse Taylor, and a witness, the brothers assaulted Taylor, a tenant of a property owned by the Jenkinses’ mother. The tenant suffered a broken jaw and broken or cracked ribs, according to BCSO Chief Deputy Charlie Rose. Both Jenkins brothers denied they were the perpetrators.

Curt Jenkins is serving his first term on Chocowinity’s Board of Commissioners.
