Northside overcomes shooting struggles at Perquimans
HERTFORD — Northside had to overcome a halftime deficit and shooting problems to beat Perquimans, 52-49, and improve to 4-0 early in the season. Johnathan Clark led the Panthers with 15 points. Bryson Radcliffe (14) and Rashod Smith (12) scored in double figures, too.
The hosting Pirates built a 31-22 lead at halftime. Northside whittled the deficit to three, 41-38, going into the fourth quarter. The Panthers outscored Perquimans 14-8 in the final period to escape with the win.
Northside hosted Manteo on Wednesday for its final non-conference outing prior to a Friday-night trip to Riverside.
Lady Panthers outlast Perquimans
HERTFORD — Northside scooted by Perquimans, 44-42, on Tuesday to level its record at 2-2. Abby Mooring, running the point in place of injured Gabby Slade, scored 15 points to help lead the offensive effort.
The Lady Panthers picked up their first win last week in a 64-11 shellacking of Mattamuskeet. The win over the Lady Pirates puts them at .500 after being swept in their home-and-home series with Washington.
Northside hosted Manteo on Wednesday. It will travel to Riverside on Friday to begin 1-A Coastal Plains Conference action.
Pam Pack wrestling stays perfect
