Rotary Minute: Planting trees in Mongolia
Published 11:25 am Saturday, December 9, 2017
Mongolian Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Tuul regularly take off weekends to plant trees as part of the Keep Mongolia Green project. Most recently they worked in the Choir Eco Park near Choir, Mongolia. Keep Mongolia Green is a five-year project undertaken by Korean and Mongolian Rotarians to counter desertification and erosion caused in part by overgrazing of livestock in Mongolia. To date, they have planted more than 250,000 trees, built infrastructure and provided training for local farmers. Funding is provided by multiple grants from The Rotary Foundation. One more way Rotarians are working to do good in the world.
