The Saturday Night Jamboree Christmas party was held recently at the First Methodist Church on Second Street in Washington. Registrar Carolyn Jefferson, Tillie Braddy and Marlene Sprouse signed in 138 clients with loving assistance from volunteers Joyce Carawan, Kathy Lilley and Tine Woolard.

DJ Kenny Beacham played music for dancing and listening pleasure.

Following a prayer offered by Judy Hollis, members and friends of the First Christian Church (CMF) served delicious refreshments. Those helping for the evening included Clyde and Mirian Roberson, Cliff and Betsy Toler, Judy and Ray Kennedy, Bill and Jane Worsley, Bryan Ross, Gary Wilson, Lynn Weatherly and Hal Matheson. They were assisted in serving the clients by Kathy Lilley, Jim Sadler, Kin Wood, Michael Cutler, Tine Woolard and Joyce Carawan.

Marlene Sprouse led the activities and the singing for the December birthday greetings.

”Here Comes Santa Claus” was sung by the clients and helpers to welcome a special visitor who gave the clients their Christmas gifts for being good all year. The Saturday Night Jamboree would like to extend a special thanks to Tim Cashion for his help with the Christmas program, and to the First United Methodist Church for letting the Jamboree use their facilities and Ken Huss for his assistance.

The Saturday Night Jamboree would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers for their assistance and to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

The next Jamboree will be posted. All mentally/physically-challenged residents and all volunteers are encouraged to attend and help welcome in the New Year.

The Saturday Night Jamboree is a nonprofit organization and all donations should be made out to The Saturday Night Jamboree and mailed to 410 Northwood Road, Washington, NC  27889 or contact Marlene Sprouse at 252-946-4350
