Lady Pack moves into first in ECC
Washington took sole possession of first place in the 2-A Eastern Carolina Conference after a 46-26 bashing of Ayden-Grifton on Tuesday.
Daria Jones helped lead the Lady Pack to the top of the standings with a 12-point game. Eight of those came in a third quarter in which Washington erupted for 22 points to take firm control of the game. Kizoria Redmond and Kiwona Clayton also shot the ball well in the third.
Washington began competition in the South Central Christmas Tournament on Wednesday. After that, it will be off until traveling to South Lenoir on Jan. 2. The Lady Pack will look to stay sharp after last year’s New Year collapse.
