Republic Services has announced that its trash collections in Tyrrell County will be delayed one day during the week of Christmas (Dec. 25-30) and during the week of New Year’s 2018 (Jan. 1-6).

“The final services for these weeks will occur on Saturday of each of these weeks,” a Republic spokesperson stated. “So Monday will be serviced Tuesday, Tuesday will be serviced Wednesday, and so on.”

The schedule changes are due to the East Carolina Landfill being closed and to the holidays, it was stated.
