Mrs. Jean Carolyn Lewis Lewis, age 77, a resident of Pinetown, died Dec. 30, 2017, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

Mrs. Lewis was born in Beaufort County on May 12, 1940, to the late Major Wright Lewis and Ella Mae Hill Lewis. On May 5, 1958, she married Robert Clay Lewis. She was a 1959 graduate of Chocowinity High School. She worked for National Spinning for over 36 years.

Survivors include three sons, Allen Lewis of Pinetown, Tim Lewis of Winterville and Major Lewis of Pinetown; four grandchildren, Robbie Lewis, Michael Lewis, Destiny Lewis and Carter Lewis; two sisters, Jeanette Driver of Amelia, Virginia, and Shelby Morris of Orange, Virginia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clay Lewis; three brothers, Major Churchill Lewis, Henry Thomas Lewis and Hurlet “Hubby” Levone Lewis.
