The winter storm January 4-8 altered the 2018 Farm Road Show dates and locations, but the shows go on, Andrea Gibbs, Agricultural Extension Agent with NC Cooperative Extension in Hyde County, has announced.

Each Road Show will begin at 9 a.m. with registration. Presentations begin at 9:30 and end with lunch. All meetings will include two hours of pesticide recertification credits (XNOD).

In the afternoon, a separate “V” training will be available for private pesticide applicators needing to recertify their private pesticide applicator license in 2018.

Locations and dates for the Road Show:

For more information about specific topics, contact Gibbs at the Hyde County Extension Center in Swan Quarter, 252-926-4488.

Also, cotton and soybean pesticide spraying equipment drivers must attend training if they intend to use certain products in 2018. Extension agents in Beaufort, Hyde, Washington, and Tyrrell counties will host two of these trainings this year:

January 25, 9:30 a.m. to noon, as a part of the Aurora Road Show at Granny Branch Farms.

February 1, 10:30 a.m. to noon (after the Blackland Cotton Meeting) at the Ponzer Community Building.
