Ms. Gloria Jean Reed, age 68, a resident of Greenville, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at her home.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Tony Krantz. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
Ms. Reed was born in Corning, New York, on Aug. 17, 1949, daughter of the late Ernest Andrew Reed, Sr. and the late Virginia June Benediet Reed. She graduated high school in New York and continued her education at Beaufort County Community College and N.C State University in the drafting field. As a CAD operator in the geology field, she worked at Hackney & Sons and National Spinning, both of Washington, and Groundwater Management Associates of Greenville. Ms. Reed dearly loved her children and grandchildren. Having attended N.C. State University, she was a huge Wolfpack fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Patti Woolard Kilpatrick and her husband, John, of Holly Springs and Nicki Woolard, of Dunn; two sisters, Ginny Wilson and her husband, Ronnie, of Manning, South Carolina, and Salle Rhodes and her husband, Jim, of Easton, Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Crystal Reed of Sumter, South Carolina; and three grandchildren, Clara Kilpatrick, Mary Edna Kilpatrick and Cooper Davis. Ms. Reed was predeceased along with her parents by a son, Charles Walter Woolard, Jr., and a brother, Ernest Andrew Reed, Jr.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of one’s choice.
