Many holiday events took place at Chocowinity Middle School over the holidays, but here are some of the kids’, and teachers’, favorites. (Above) Deputy Javier Meza of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office visits with students while telling them about Christmas traditions in Mexico. (Below) Students in Ashley Piner’s classroom enjoy a tradition from the United States’ neighbors to the south by batting a pinata filled with treats and candy; Chocowinity Primary School staff members (from left) Summer Dail, Alicia Vosburgh, Leslea Jones and Shelia Edwards show off their fashionable Grinch-wear, worn before Christmas break; and Zoey Robinson poses for a sweet holiday portrait, gifts for Chocowinity Primary School kindergarten students to give their parents.
