Edna B. Moore

Mrs. Edna Earle Ball Moore, age 86, a resident of 3008 John Small Avenue, Washington, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at her home.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Washington, conducted by Reverends Bruce Kimbrel and Arthur Ball, Jr. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Paul Congleton, Lon Moore, Charles Rhodes, Greg Richards, Benji Tripp and Gary Woolard.
Mrs. Moore was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 23, 1931. She was the daughter of the late James Franklin Ball, Sr. and Emma Spruill Ball. Mrs. Moore was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant in the office of Dr. Donald Johnson. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. In her spare time, Mrs. Moore enjoyed reading, playing cards and tending to her plants, as she was known to have a “Green Thumb.”
Mrs. Moore was married to Durwood Lincoln Moore, who preceded her in death, April 9, 2010.
She is survived by her son, Durwood Wayne Moore and his wife, Sara, of Aurora; daughter, Leanne Moore Fulcher and her husband, Charles, of Washington; four grandchildren, Eryn Leanne Moore and fiancé, Jim Van der Have, of Raleigh, Durwood Daniel Moore and his fiancée, Jessica Thomas, of Clayton, Joshua Charles Fulcher and his wife, Sandy, of Greenville, Graham Tyler Fulcher, of Greenville; three great-grandchildren, Emory Burke and Jonah Burke, both of Raleigh, Adaline Moore, of Clayton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Sumrell and Gladys Hammond, and three brothers, James “Jim” Jr., Horace Ball and Arthur Ball, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at her home.
