Mr. Jessie Leon Davidson, age 83, a resident of 605 E. Fifth St., Washington, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at 15th Street Church of God and will be conducted by Pastor Randy Wallace.

Mr. Davidson was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Beaufort County to the late Thomas Walter Davidson and Ethel Sullivan Davidson. On July 3, 1960, he married Frances Elizabeth Jefferson, who survives. He was a 1953 graduate of Bath High School, was employed with the Washington City Schools, Paul Funeral Home and retired from Generator & Starter. He was also a former Washington volunteer fireman, a Mason and was a member of the 15th Street Church of God. Leon had a great love for helping and working with others in the community.

Survivors include his wife, Frances E. Davidson, of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth Marie Paramore and husband Jasper, of Chocowinity, Loretta Barton and husband Mike, of Washington; three grandchildren, Petty Officer 1st Class Jonathan Conner and wife Liz, Katie Pate and husband Justin, Patrick Conner and wife Stephanie; three great-grandchildren, Wesley Conner, Harli Conner, Skyler Pate; a brother, Thomas “Duck” Davidson, of Washington; two half-brothers, Richard Harris, of Kinston, and Henry Harris and wife Gail, of Newport News, Virginia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mazel Bowen, and two brothers, Alvin Davidson and Buddy Davidson.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
