Representatives of Washington (noon) Rotary Club recently attended the opening of BCPAL’s new facilities and presented a check to Al Powell, president of BCPAL.

According to Powell, “The PAL mission is to utilize innovative strategies to improve the relationship between youth, the community and law enforcement while educating youth to the importance of STEM courses. The objective of this project is to cultivate the students’ enthusiasm for science and mathematics utilizing methods of transportation as the intellectual ‘bait.’ The project also demonstrates to the youth the real-world relevancy/application of selected scientific principles. Careers in the transportation industry are explored using weekend field trips and by interaction with scientific, aviation and engineering professionals.”
