Ronald David Dillon, age 82, of Belhaven and Farmville, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at his home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ronald was born in Belhaven on Dec. 26, 1935, to the late Louis C. Dillon and Ercel Lilly Dillon. He was a graduate of Wayne County Community College in Goldsboro. He served his country with distinction for 20 years in the United States Air Force, during which he served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retiring from the Air Force, Ronald established Dillon’s Aviation in Greenville, where he served as president until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his twin Donald Dillon, and his brothers, Louis Dillon and Marshall Dillon.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Christine Daniel Dillon, of the home; daughter, Debbie Thorne (Jimmy), of Rocky Mount; son, Stuart Dillon (Allison), of Greenville, and daughter, Aileen Batchelor (Chris), of Hampstead; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Elgin and husband Frank, of Portsmouth, Virginia; and brother, Larry Dillon, of Manteo.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Ronald D. Dillon Aviation Scholarship c/o The Foundation Wayne Community College, P.O. Box 8002, Goldsboro, NC 27533.
