Phil R. Weston, Sr.

Mr. Phil Rodrick Weston, Sr., age 75, a resident of Blounts Creek, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ, officiated by Kent Gurganus. Burial will follow in the Weston Family Cemetery. Members of Blounts Creek Volunteer Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

Mr. Weston was born in Beaufort county on Jan. 29, 1943, the son of the late Johnie Bryan Weston and the late Vera Toler Weston. He was a 1961 graduate of Aurora High School and attended Beaufort County Community College. On June 8, 1963, he married the former Judy Faye Mobley, who survives. Mr. Weston was a retired foreman of PCS of Aurora and was owner/operator of Weston Garage Inc., of Blounts Creek. He was community active as a charter member of Blounts Creek Volunteer Fire Department and EMS. He was a member of Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ and Coastal Plains Antique Car Club.

Surviving along with his wife, Judy, of the home, are: two daughters, Debbie Weston Kelly, of Greenville, and Rita Weston Rowe (Larry), of Blounts Creek; two sons, Phil R. β€œRod” Weston, Jr., of Blounts Creek, and Michael Brian Weston (Martha), of Washington; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Weston was predeceased along with his parents by a brother, Durwood S. Weston, Sr., and two sisters, Catherine Tyer and infant Alice Weston.
