THESE BRICKS ARE ALL THAT REMAIN of a huge chimney and dwelling house that were at the north end of Deweys Pier Road in Tyrrell County 75 years ago. Erosion toppled the chimney and took the house, and Dewey Morris’ commercial pier into Albemarle Sound is long gone too.
