Glennwood E. Keech

Mr. Glennwood “Glenn” Earl Keech, age 83, a resident of the Free Union Community of Pinetown, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Tony Parrish and Rev. Harold Swinson.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home.
Mr. Glenn was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 28, 1934, son of the late John James Keech and the late Annie Mae Wilkinson Keech. He attended Pantego High School. On July 29, 1955, he married the former Thelma Lorraine Keech, who survives. He was a plater/engraver at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and retired on Dec. 31, 1988, after 27 years of service. While living in Virginia, Mr. Glenn was a volunteer with the Chesapeake Fire Department. He was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving along with his wife, Tootsie Keech, of the home, is a daughter, Lorenda Baker and her husband, David, of Chesapeake; a son, Russell Keech, of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Sarah Willis and Amber Perry; and four great-grandchildren, Christian Willis, Harlan Willis, Hailey Willis and David Baker III. Mr. Glenn was preceded in death by two brothers, Melburn Rudolph Keech and Russell Hunter Keech, and a sister, Elva Mae Massey.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to Free Union Free Will Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary, 4961 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, NC 27865.
