The Richland Seniors met on April 3, Ann Cayton opened the meeting with 18 members present. Mary Galloway gave the devotion, followed by the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance. The roll was called and minutes were read, as was the treasures report.
The club is having membership drive; the age to be in the Senior Club is now age 50. We are in need of younger seniors to carry on. The Club has been and still is an asset to the community, and we would hope it would continue to be here to help where needed after the founders are no longer able to do so. Please consider checking us out, we meet the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Senior Building. Feel free to stop by and check us out, or ask any member for any info.
The Day Trip was discussed and will be finalized at the May meeting.
Our speaker was Brandie Garner, aging service coordinator for Mid-East Commission, providing very informative information on things that are out there for the aging population. Thank you, Brandie.
The speakers for the March meeting were Paige and Kelly from Vidant Health who spoke about strokes and colon cancer. Many thanks to both ladies for a very interesting presentation.
James Parker blessed the food, and fellowship was enjoyed by all.
