Dormanda Haire Spear, 77, of 1133 Cherry Road, Creswell, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018, in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

Mrs. Spear was born in Beaufort County on July 28, 1940, and was the daughter of the late William Edward and Annie Craddock Haire. A homemaker, she had worked as a teller with East Carolina Bank, and was a member of Philippi Church of Christ.

Surviving are her husband of nearly 62 years, Paul J. Spear; two daughters, Kathy S. Spruill and husband, Chuck, of Plymouth, and Vonda S. McNair and husband, George, of Roper; a son, Carey Spear and fiancé, Terri Yates, of Creswell; seven grandchildren, Chad Spruill (Kristin), Savanna Lilley (John Thomas), Sarah Exum, Josh Spear (Lupe`), Jake Spear (Morgan), Nicholas McNair, and Kaitlyn McNair; and seven great-grandchildren, David, Naomi, and Tripp Spear, Harper and Vivienne Exum, and Cody and Madelyn Spruill.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Philippi Church of Christ and will be conducted by Ministers Glenn Brickhouse and Mark Wilmoth. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family in the church social hall the hour prior to services, and all other times at the residence.
