Lois Victoria Outlaw Smith

Mrs. Lois Victoria Outlaw Smith, age 83, a resident of River Trace and former resident of Washington Park, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church and will be conducted by Rev. Ken Hall. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Jeffrey Peacock, Tyler Peacock, Joe Meshach, Eldridge Jordan, Leroy Jordan and Walter B. Gerard III will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Smith was born July 24, 1934, in Hartsville, South Carolina, to the late George Early Outlaw and Grace Lynette Martin Outlaw. In May of 1956, she married Cole L. Smith, who preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 2014. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Brenda Smith Peacock and husband Jeff, of Washington, and Cathy Smith Meshach and husband Joe, of Walterboro, South Carolina; a son, Cole L. Smith, Jr. of Cheraw, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Tyler Alden Peacock, Jennifer Grace Meshach, Bradley Alexander Smith and Jacob Ryan Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Autumn Smith.

The family will receive friends in the church parlor one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Dr. Brenda Peacock, 312 Riverside Drive, Washington.
