Jimmie Wayne “Stokey” Stokesberry

Mr. Jimmie Wayne “Stokey” Stokesberry, 55, resident of Cocoa, Florida, formerly of Chocowinity, passed away at his home unexpectedly.
Born on Feb. 28, 1963, in Washington, to Betty Stewart Smith. Wayne attended Chocowinity High School. He was an ironworker/rigger in the construction industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, socializing and riding his Harley.
Wayne was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John William Stewart and Charlotte Ruth Garris Stewart; and man’s best friend “Jake Dog.” He is survived by his mother, Betty Smith, and stepfather, John; stepdaughters, Morgan, Miranda and Summer; sisters, Kathy Dixon (Allen) and Melissa Moore (Chris); stepbrother, Buddy Smith (Kim); aunt, Neva Woolard; nephews, Austin Dixon (Dorothy), Dustin Dixon, Jarret Nobles, Tyler Moore and Dillon Smith; nieces, Mallory Nobles and Ciara Moore.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the memorial service on Saturday, June 30, at 3 p.m. at Chocowinity VFD, 512 N.C. Highway 33 E, Chocowinity, North Carolina, 27817.
