Doane A. “Randy” Rouse, Jr., age 64, a resident of Pantego, died at home Thursday, June 28, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor David Pierce. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
Randy was born in Belhaven on April 19, 1954, the son of the late Doane Alexander Rouse and Ann Latham Rouse. He was a graduate of John A Wilkinson High School. After graduation, he attended N.C. State where he received a B.S. in Zoology. Randy enjoyed the outdoors and waterways of eastern North Carolina. He never met a stranger, and always enjoyed a good conversation. Randy was known as Papa Randy or Uncle Randy to a precious group of children who will treasure their memories of exploring God’s creation with him. He was a member of Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Cherry Croom Rouse, of Pantego; daughter, Kathleen Rouse Shepherd and husband Richard, of Wilkesboro; son, Bradley Alexander Rouse and wife Rachel, of Sanford; brother, Robbie Rouse and wife Jane, of Washington; sister, Linda R. Sharp; and three grandchildren, Annabelle Rouse, Emma Rouse and Lauren Shepherd.
