The Bath 15U baseball team easily brushed aside the opposition to win its first two games of the Tar Heel League State Tournament in Hickory, putting the team a win away from the final of the double-elimination tournament.

Bath opened the competition with a 22-0 victory in three innings over Shelby on Thursday. Ryan Woodard threw a no-hitter, striking out five batters. Matthew Adams and Douglas Dixon each hit a home run, while the whole squad contributed to rack up up 14 hits in the game.

Bath followed that with an 11-1 win over Western Harnett in five innings yesterday. Dixon once again was a big contributor at the plate, hitting a pair of three-run home runs, while Adams struck out four batters in four innings of work on the mound. Bath plays Hickory today for a spot in the final.
