Marijuana, Ecstasy found during traffic stop

On Aug. 6, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, with the assistance of Adult Probation and Parole with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, arrested Travis Cobb, 34, of 200 Beulah Lane, Washington, and Janesha Peele, 24, of 719 Gladden St. They were charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, conspiracy to possess with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of ecstasy, a Schedule I controlled substance.

Their arrest stemmed from investigators receiving complaints about Cobb and Peele being involved in the distribution of controlled substances. Investigators, with the assistance of Probation and Parole, conducted surveillance on Cobb and Peele. Investigators witnessed Cobb driving with a suspended license and conduct a vehicle stop. K-9 Bodi alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. Investigators found a plastic bag containing approximately 85 grams of marijuana and a plastic bag containing Ecstasy.

Cobb and Peele were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under $15,000 secured bonds.
