Plenty of end-of-summer events on tap

Summer may be coming to a close, but the historic Turnage Theatre is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Saturday, AOP’s Broadway Kids will present live onstage, two showings of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” The matinee will be at 2:30 p.m., and the evening performance will be at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for this magical show will be $5 cash, and $7 credit card. This show is a perfect introduction of the magic of live theatre to young audiences. On Sunday, Broadway on the Big Screen returns to the Turnage Theatre with the musical adaption of “From Here to Eternity.” The screening of this new Tim Rice musical will begin at 2 p.m. and is being offered for free to patrons with a suggested donation of $5. This weekend will be filled with activities that the entire family can enjoy at the theatre at reasonable prices.

Arts of the Pamlico is a state-designated arts council and community art space dedicated to bringing diverse artistic projects to eastern North Carolina. AOP provides access to visual arts, theater, music performances, dance and films offered every month. All are invited to join AOP as a member and help with the vision of continued artistic programming being offered to eastern North Carolina.
