During the fiscal year that ended June 30, the Tyrrell County Inspections Department issued two stick-built, two modular, and five mobile home construction permits, Joie Spencer, building inspector, reported recently to the county commissioners.

The nine construction permits compared with 14 issued in 2016-17 and 19 in the 2015-16 fiscal year.

Permits for additions to existing structures came to 60 in the year just ended, 43 the year before, and 42 in the 2015-16 year.

Permits for electrical, mechanical, plumbing or repair totaled 126 for the year ended June 30, 139 for the year before that, and 245 in the year ended June 30, 2016.

Total inspection fees collected for 2017-18 amounted to $22,376; for 2016-17 they were $25,809; and for 2015-16 the total was $39,183.
