Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.
All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.
Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.
Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.
Xena
Glamorous and friendly that’s our Xena, a 1-year-old Seal Point Siamese mix. She’s ready to step out dressed in her exotic shorthair coat with unique markings and huge, China-blue eyes. A truly remarkable cat with a warm, affectionate and calm nature, Xena, ID No. 1328, will make a wonderful companion and pet in a good and loving forever home setting. Come meet this fabulous cat, you’ll be glad you did. She is available at the shelter.
Daisy
This beautiful black and tan, Bloodhound mix is a large, friendly girl with a sweet and gentle nature. At approximately 2 years old, Daisy displays characteristics of the fine breed she is descended from. She will do best with an active family with owner(s) willing to give her lots of attention and love, consistent exercise — playtime may be included — in a fenced area or on leash, basic obedience training and, of course, a good forever home. The shelter is now accepting applications, in person, for Daisy’s adoption; her ID is No. 1338. Come pay this fantastic dog a visit; she’s available at the shelter.
