The Tyrrell County Planning Board reviewed four residential subdivision plats during the fiscal year that ended June 30, Cheryl Reynolds, board clerk, reported to the county commissioners.
The county planning board is the final authority on approval of subdivision plats.
In June the board finalized and forwarded to the county manager an extensive revision of the subdivision ordinance.
No meetings were held in May and July “due to no new business coming before the Board,” Reynolds reported.
She also said she spent about 30 hours since the last report answering or making phone calls on behalf of the planning board, assisting walk-in customers with planning board related issues, and the clerical duties that are a part of the planning board. Reynolds’ primary duty is as assistant register of deeds.
Planning board members are Tony Sawyer (chairman), Roger Hudson, Butch Kirkman, Gail Lewis and Steve Ralph.
Members are appointed or reappointed by the county commissioners to three-year terms. Lewis joined the board in 2005, Kirkman and Sawyer in 2015, Hudson in 2016, and Ralph last year.
