North Road Street in Columbia will be closed beginning at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, between Green Street and Cemetery Road, but local officials are hopeful it will reopen much sooner than six weeks. RPC Contracting is to install a larger culvert in North Boundary Canal to control flooding and then elevate the street surface above it. Detours up to 20 miles will be required.
