Published 10:38 pm Friday, September 7, 2018

The Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility will be closed Sept. 1–3, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

Tugg

A friendly, sweet guy who likes to give kisses, that’s Tugg, an American pit bull terrier mix. He’s handsome in his brown and white shorthair coat, and, at 2 years old, Tugg appears to have had some training, and he’s eager to please. This large male will do best with a loving, attentive and active family who will spend time with him, include him in their activities, give him plenty of regular exercise and play, preferably in a fenced area or on a leash, give him obedience training and, of course, a good forever home.

Come meet this charming fellow; Tugg’s ID is No. 1360. He’s available at the shelter.

Lucky

This handsome hunk is already neutered so he’s good to go, as soon as his reduced fee is paid. Friendly, smart and calm, Lucky, an extra-large male tabby, is handsome in his American shorthair coat of ebony and honey-colored stripes. His huge, light-green eyes are showstoppers and heart-warmers. At 11 years old, Lucky needs a good forever home where he will find stability and love that will enable him to return to the wonderful pet and companion that he is. Lucky’s ID is No. 1426. Pay him a visit and see for yourself what great cat he is. He’s available at the shelter.
