WILLIAMSTON — Martin General Hospital has activated its emergency operations plan in advance of Hurricane Florence and is currently evacuating all inpatients. The hospital intends to continue operating the emergency department, as well as its labor and delivery unit, at this time.

The hospital plans to suspend all other outpatient and clinic operations starting the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 13.

“With reports indicating Hurricane Florence was increasing in intensity, and out of an abundance of caution, we decided to evacuate our hospital inpatients today,” said CEO Joan L. White-Wagoner. “We will resume full operations as soon as it is safe to do so.”
