Chocowinity’s Whichards Beach Road closed

Whichards Beach Road (State Road 1166) is closed in both directions due to flooding from storm surge and heavy rain, according to Jimmy Hawley of the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The Chocowinity road is impassable by cars and is closed indefinitely. There are no alternate routes to take.
