Congressman Jones give hurricane advice

Congressman Walter B. Jones issued the following message Monday morning regarding Hurricane Florence.
It is becoming increasingly likely that Florence will make landfall on the Carolina Coast this Thursday as a major hurricane. You can expect heavy rains and flooding, downed trees and power lines from excessive winds, dangerous riptides, and other life-threatening hazards. Now is the time to begin preparations, and if instructed by local authorities, to evacuate.
For the most current forecast and trajectory of Hurricane Florence, I encourage you to visit the National Hurricane Center’s website. Please continue to monitor local news and local government announcements for information on preparedness and response in your area.

Tips include how to: Make a family plan, pack an emergency go-kit with vital records, protect your home, know your insurance plan, stay up-to-date on storm alerts, and evacuate efficiently.
