A J&J Wrecker Service tow truck from Plymouth was required to get a trailer back onto NC 94 in Kilkenny on Sept. 20, according to Sheriff Darryl Liverman.

The unidentified truck driver “had gotten lost and was attempting to turn onto Kilkenny Loop Road to go back to Cherry Farms,” the sheriff explained. “He turned short, causing the tires of the trailer to go into a ditch, and the back of the trailer became stuck on the roadway.”

The trailer was loaded with products to be delivered to Cherry Farms Seed Co., 11500 Hwy 94 South, 10 miles north of the accident scene.

There was minor damage to the trailer and tractor, the sheriff said. The State Highway Patrol investigated.

Tyrrell County Sheriff’s Office, Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department, and NCDOT responded after Regional 911 Communications received a call at 8:58 a.m. about a vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer on NC 94 south of Columbia.
