Students urged to take a Bible to school on Oct. 4

October 4 is Bring Your Bible To School Day, a nationwide religious freedom initiative that Focus on the Family sponsors for students from kindergarten to college level.

Its purpose is to have one day when students can be reminded of their most basic rights and express their faith in a really simple way: taking their Bible to school and talking about it with friends.

“Kids have the right to bring their personal Bible to school, read it during free time, talk about it with friends, as long as they are not disrupting formal classroom teaching,” advised Candi Cushman of Focus on the Family. “We provide resources on the website, bringyourbible.org, so students can make this as involved as they would like.”
