Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs and ENC Shelter Cats on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

Edgar

A friendly, sweet guy who likes interacting with people, that’s Edgar, an American pit bull terrier-mix. Handsome in his brown/black brindle shorthair coat with white highlights,

this 4-year-old is eager to please. Edgar, a large male, will do best with a loving, attentive and active family who will spend time with him, include him in their activities, give him plenty of regular exercise and play, preferably in a fenced area or on a leash, give him obedience training, and of course, a good forever home.

Come meet this personable fellow; Edgar’s ID is No. 1561. He’s available at the shelter.

Splendora

This adorably sweet, playful and loving, approximately 10-month-old juvenile cat is a bicolor tabby with a remarkable coat pattern. Her American shorthair coat is snowy white with tabby markings and stripes in gray, ebony and buff — her tabby shows most evidently on her face with the classic tabby “M.” Huge, glistening, light-green eyes and a rosebud nose complete this pretty picture. With her friendly, calm and gentle nature, Splendora will be a welcome addition in a variety of good forever, loving home settings, where she will blossom into a wonderful pet and companion.

Come visit her — Splendora’s ID is No. 1563. See for yourself her beauty and charm. She’s available at the shelter.
