Eloise Radcliffe Midyette, 84, of 41379 U.S. Highway 264 East, Belhaven, the Ponzer Community, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at Vidant-Beaufort Hospital, Washington, after a brief illness.
Born in Hyde County, Aug. 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Enoch Tracy and Lillie Lee Roper Radcliffe. She was first married to J. Vernon Midyette who preceded her in death. She later married Paul Lester Tackett who survives.
She was a member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ and Ponzer Ruritan Club. Her working years were spent with the former Food Land store for 33 years and then retired from Food Lion after 17 years in Belhaven.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Mt. Olive Church of Christ. Mike Caton, Minister will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Tackett Jr., Carr Baynor, Buddy Harris, Sam Fisher, Roddy Selby, Glenn Boyd, Ricky Radcliff and Richard Dunbar.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are a son, Glenn Blake and wife Tammy, of Ponzer; a daughter, Lucretia B. Green and husband Bobby, of Ponzer; a stepson, Paul L. Tackett, Jr., of Ponzer; a stepdaughter, Judith Faye T. Williams and husband Steve of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, Malicia Braddy, Laura Blake and Jonathan Blake; two great-grandchildren, Madison Braddy and Hunter Braddy; five step-grandchildren, Jonda Shaffer, Samantha Bratt, Angie Stover, Paula Brayboy and Heather Carpenter; seven step-great-grandchildren, Colby Brayboy, Cadence Brayboy, Mikayla Carpenter, Halee Hester, Garrett Young, Lauren Stover, Austin Stover.

The family will receive friends at the church between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. prior to the funeral hour.
