IN REMEMBRANCE: A crowd of approximately 30 people gathered outside of the Beaufort County Courthouse on Wednesday evening, each huddled against the chill and holding a candle in honor of those who have been impacted by domestic violence. Those assembled for the candle light vigil listened as Ruth’s House Director Valerie Kines read out the names of the 42 men, women and children who have been killed as a result of domestic violence in North Carolina this year. For each person, a luminary was left lit on the façade of the courthouse overnight. If you or someone you know is suffering from domestic violence, call the Ruth’s House Helpline at 252-940-0007.
