The public is invited to the third annual Carols, Coffee, and Cookies Concert to be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Friday, December 7, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This event, part of Columbia’s Rivertown Christmas celebration, is intended to offer both locals and visitors an opportunity to relax, have a cup of coffee and a tasty cookie, and enjoy the sounds of the Christmas season.
Bob Waters, a resident of Tyrrell County, will perform a variety of holiday favorites on the hammered dulcimer, autoharp, Native American flute, and the Cajun Accordion, everyone’s favorite instrument of the season.
Trudee Farley, another local resident, will be featured as guest soloist this year and will no doubt delight the audience with her singing of both contemporary and traditional carols.
This concert is free and by no means intended to be formal. Have a few sips of coffee and stay for one carol, or settle in and listen to the entire concert.
The sponsors invite you to “mark December 7th on your calendar, come on over to St. Andrew’s in your blue jeans and flannel shirt at 6:30 that evening, leave the hustle and bustle at the door, and let the glorious music of Christmas surround you with comfort and joy.”
